Terms of Service

Entity: NotJustEvent Technologies Ltd. ("NotJustEvent", "we", "our", "us")

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using NotJustEvent, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services. Users must be 18 years or older and capable of entering legally binding contracts.

2. Service Overview

NotJustEvent is an online marketplace connecting event organizers with verified vendors and venues. We provide:

  • Event discovery and vendor booking
  • Escrow-based payment facilitation
  • Subscription and communication tools
  • AI-powered recommendations and budgeting insights

The platform itself is free to use, but NotJustEvent charges a 5% booking commission from the organizer and 5% from the vendor/venue, totaling 10% per successful booking.

3. Account Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and updated information.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activities under your account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts violating these Terms.

4. Payments, Escrow & Fees

a. Payment Processing

All payments are securely handled by Paystack, our payment partner. We do not store or process card details.

b. Escrow System

  • Funds are held temporarily in escrow until service delivery or completion confirmation.
  • Disbursement occurs automatically after the stipulated holding period (e.g., 3 days post-event) unless a dispute is filed.
  • Once released, transactions are considered final.

c. Booking Commissions

  • 5% fee is charged to both the vendor/venue and the organizer on each successful booking.
  • Paystack's processing fees are displayed at checkout.

d. Refunds & Cancellations

Refunds are governed by the dispute resolution clause. Subscription users can cancel at any time through their account dashboard.

5. Dispute Resolution

  • A dispute must be filed within 3 days after the scheduled service deadline.
  • Both parties have 24 hours to provide evidence.
  • NotJustEvent reviews the evidence and decides whether to refund the organizer or release funds to the vendor.
  • Our decision is final within the bounds of fairness and contractual terms.

6. Vendor and Organizer Conduct

Users agree to:

  • Provide truthful and complete information.
  • Avoid misleading, fraudulent, or illegal listings.
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally.
  • Not solicit or complete payments outside NotJustEvent.

Violations may result in suspension or permanent account termination.

7. Content and Intellectual Property

  • You retain ownership of your uploaded content but grant NotJustEvent a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use it solely to operate and promote the platform.
  • NotJustEvent retains ownership of all trademarks, logos, software, and proprietary materials.
  • You may not copy, modify, or distribute our materials without written permission.

8. Prohibited Activities

You must not:

  • Engage in fraud, money laundering, or illegal activity.
  • Post defamatory, obscene, or infringing content.
  • Attempt to hack, scrape, or overload our systems.
  • Circumvent fees or conduct off-platform transactions.

9. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

  • NotJustEvent provides services "as is" and does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total fees you paid within the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NotJustEvent, its directors, officers, and partners from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the platform or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate laws or these Terms. Upon termination, pending funds may be withheld or refunded per dispute policy.

12. Governing Law & Arbitration

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 2004, held in Lagos, Nigeria.

13. Modifications

We may modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be effective upon posting. Continued use means you accept the revised Terms.
